President Goodluck Jonathan has defeated All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Muhammadu Buhari in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja.

Earlier results showed that Buhari had defeated Jonathan in the Presidential Villa but the President won overall with 157,195 votes while the APC candidate garnered 146,399.

In Rivers State, Jonathan defeated Buhari soundly after getting 1,487,075 votes to Buhari’s 69,238.

Protests had earlier broken out in Rivers after APC members alleged that elections did not hold in the state.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) however denied the reports.
